How long will it take to get from Hamburg, Germany to Amsterdam by train?

My friend lives in Germany and she said it only took her 2 and a half hours to get from Hamburg to Amsterdam. However, I've looked through train schedules & other places on the internet, and the all say about 5 hours. Is it possible to get from Hamburg to Amsterdam in 2.5 hours???

1. I agree with you, at least 5 hours, often near 6. I remember having traveled past Hamburg on my way from and to Amsterdam, and I checked it on the site of the German railway: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?newrequest=yes&protocol=http:& From Cologne you can reach Amsterdam in about 2.5 hours, not from Hamburg!
